Auditions
The Footlighters Inc. will hold auditions for their fall show Mame at The Stained Glass Theater (802 York Street, Newport).
Directed by Mary Haas, Produced by Dan Doerger and Freida Houck
Auditions will take place on Tuesday, May 20 and Wednesday, May 21 at 7PM.
Please bring sheet music or be prepared to sing from the Mame score; Darin Art, Music Director, will be the accompanist.
Be prepared to read from the script. Dance auditions will not be held.
Callbacks, if necessary, will be Thursday, May 22 at 7PM.
Performance Dates: October 2 - 18, 2008, Thursday-Saturday at 8PM, Sunday at 2PM,
Last weekend there will be performances on Wednesday-Saturday at 8PM.
Synopsis of Mame: An eccentric socialite in the Roaring '20s finds her madcap Manhattan lifestyle turned upside down when she is appointed guardian of her orphaned nephew. Auntie Mame takes him on one whirlwind adventure after another, proving that "life is a banquet." With a rogue's gallery of memorable characters - plus hilarious encounters with proper society - Mame has touched the hearts and tickled the funnybones of audiences everywhere. The irresistible score includes the title song, "If He Walked Into My Life" and "We Need A Little Christmas."

- Young Patrick -- age 10 (actors between the ages of 8-12 will be considered)

- Ito --- 30’s to 60’s
- Lindsay --- 40’s to 50’s
- Babcock -- 50’s to 60’s
- Beauregard -- 40’s to 50’s
- Sally Cato -- 30’s
- Pegeen -- 20’s to 30’s
- Gloria Upson -- 20’s to 30’s
- Claude Upson -- 50’s
- Doris Upson -- 50’s
- Peter -- 6,7,8
All other parts will be cast from the chorus, (and there are some juicy parts!).
